With just 20 PTX swimmers entered with 23 routines, it would be tough to repeat the success of the previous season. But the girls have been working hard and were up to the challenging competition from around the state. Ana Warner, Rebecca Barlow, Shelby Patton, Claire Evans and Laura Gardina won figures in their respective age groups with solid performances from the rest of the team making great strides in this technical category. The solo event is one of the toughest events as there are more entries in it than any other. However, PTX proved strong again as we placed first in each age group we had a solo entered. Warner, Barlow, Patton and Evans claimed the gold again. Meghan Covert took 4th in the 11-12 age group to secure her spot at National Age Group in New York in June, while Valeria Aceves rounded out the division capturing 5th. Haley McDaniel placed 4th in the tough 13-15 field earning her spot at National Age Group and 16-17 swimmer Anna Flinchbaugh placed 4th. The duet competition is always fun to watch especially with the solid performances from all the teams this year. The 11-12 duet of Barlow and Covert placed first while Eleanor Dabrowski and Emily Brown rounded out the age group by placing 4th and earning their spot at the New York competition. Devon Ivie and Haley McDaniel captured the bronze medal in the 13-15 duet event while Katina Aceves and Erin Flinchbaugh took 5th . Caroline Brown and Danielle Freeman rounded out the age group by taking 9th . Patton and Evans swam one of their best routines of the season and took the gold in the 16-17 duet event while Laura Gardina and Caitlin Miles secured first place in the 18-19 category with another good swim.

The trio category proved positive for PTX again with the 11-12 trio of Valeria Aceves, Brown and Warner taking first in their age group and Katina Aceves, Victoria Acker and Erin Flinchbaugh taking 2nd in the 13-15 category. Gardina, Miles and Anna Flinchbaugh placed first in the 18-19 age group.

The team events found PTX in first in the 11-12 age group with Valeria Aceves, Emily Brown, Meghan Covert, Eleanor Dabrowski, Natasha Roquebert, Ana Warner and Brooklyn Ward while Katina Aceves, Victoria Acker, Rebecca Barlow, Caroline Brown, Danielle Freeman, Erin Flinchbaugh, Devon Ivie and Haley McDaniel took the silver in the 13-15 category. The 18-19 team of Claire Evans, Anna Flinchbaugh, Laura Gardina, Caitlin Miles and Shelby Patton placed second.

It was a long weekend with solid performances by all the girls at the meet. We were happy to bring the trophy back to Irving again this year.
