The Pirouettes of Texas received a special honor recently when the USA Synchro National Team Director extended an invitation to a PTX swimmer to attend a special weekend at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Shelby Patton was one of only 20 swimmers nationwide to be extended this invitation to attend a special training weekend at the OTC that coincides with the annual USA Synchro Coaches College also being held at the OTC.

2006 is the Inaugural year for the USA Synchro Talent Identification Program, which identifies the top, new talent in the sport of synchronized swimming. These swimmers from all over the nation are being brought together so that the National Team coaches can meet them and work with those swimmers USA Synchro believes will be the future of their sport.

Unbeknownst to them, Shelby and the other invitees were identified during their participation at the National Age Group Championships in Seattle this past June.
